About Us

STELCO Research Foundation was founded in 2024 as an independent organization (partially funded by STELCO) focused on raising up national interest and economic potential of STEM ventures in the Maldives. This foundation plans to further Maldivian STEM as a viable career path by including further avenues for expansion and startup.

Through interdisciplinary collaboration and research, SRF seeks to develop sustainable solutions that enhance efficiency, resilience, and socio-economic development across various sectors. By fostering local startups and research papers, we intend to improve the reputation of Maldivian sciences in the global marketplace. SRF endeavors to collaborate closely with government agencies, academic institutions, NGOs, and industry partners to foster innovation, knowledge exchange, and sustainable development in the Maldives.

Eventually, through forming contacts with the global scientific community, Maldivian inventions and entrepreneurship would become widely recognized and prosper in the global stage. SRF would serve as the hub for regional collaboration and knowledge sharing in Maldivian research and development.
